For all you fans of instant gratification, Polaroid returns in a slightly different form from what most remember.
After originally debuting at the annual CES show earlier this year, the brand’s Socialmatic camera was met with both excitement and skepticism. However, as the year comes to a close, the camera hits retail.
The Socialmatic combines the previewing functionality of a digital camera with the instant printing power of the original Polaroid camera. A user can snap a photo, edit it on the camera’s 4.5-inch touch screen, and then post it on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), via Wi-Fi. Then, if desired, can print out a 2-by-3-inch, adhesive-backed photo.
It also fits into the palm of your hand, measuring 1.2 x 5.2 x 5.2 inches, and is lightweight at just 14.1 ounces.
The Polaroid Socialmatic is currently available for pre-order at Amazon for $300 USD. It comes with 10-pack of printing paper, which goes for $25 a pack.
