Iggy Azalea

After Azealia Banks went in on Iggy Azalea this week, accusing her of appropriating black culture and being rewarded for it, Iggy responds.

According to Banks, her rival is not hip-hop and shouldn’t be considered as such.

“I have a problem when you’re trying to say that it’s hip-hop and you’re trying to put it up against black culture,” she said in an interview with Hot 97, before accusing her of copying Nicki Minaj. “Nicki Minaj over the past two, three, four years has done so much to create this social presence, like consciousness, and then here you go. She’s like Re-Up and Roman Reloaded, and here go f*ckin’ Iggy like Reclassified. It’s like a cultural smudging was what I see.”

In response, Iggy argued that her points are invalid… and furthermore, calls Banks bitter, suggesting that she should look in the mirror before judging her.

“Special msg for banks: There are many black artists succeeding in all genres. The reason you haven’t is because of your piss poor attitude,” she tweeted. “Your inability to be responsible for your own mistakes, bullying others, the inability to be humble or have self control. It’s YOU!

“You created your own unfortunate situation by being a bigot and don’t have the mental capacity to realize yet. Probably never will,” Banks continued. “Now! rant, Make it racial! make it political! Make it whatever but I guarantee it won’t make you likable & THATS why ur crying on the radio.”

Before concluding her response, Iggy welcomed Banks to continue hating on her… because that’s the only way she can make headlines.

“Enjoy continuing to bang your head against that metaphoric brick wall & Savor this attention. I’m the only way you get ANY,” Iggy wrote. “You’re poisonous and I feel genuinely sorry for you because it’s obvious at this point you are a MISERABLE, angry human being. Regards!”
