Duck Hunt, the iconic shooter for Nintendo’s original NES is back…
Nintendo announced this week that the classic title will release on Wii U’s Virtual Console service on December 25 — the first time it’s been released on anything but the NES.
Duck Hunt was first released in 1984 in Japan, but was sold later as a pack-in game for the NES Stateside.
For the 2014 release, the NES Zapper light gun will not return. Instead, players can shoot down ducks with the Wii remote. Reports say it will be a direct port as well, so there will be no new features or levels.
While pricing has not been announced for Duck Hunt, most Virtual Console games sell for around $5 USD.
