From filing restraining orders to filing divorce papers, actress Tasha Smith is paying big bucks in the process.
According to TMZ, the Why Did I Get Married? actress has filed for divorce from her husband of four years, Keith Douglas. Since she’s the breadwinner, she will be paying for the divorce… and a judge has already ordered her to pay $50,000 up front.
The couple first split in November, when both filed restraining orders against each other. Since then, the couple has lived in the same household, but Smith was ordered to stay two yards away from Douglas while at home. When not at home, she had to stay 100 yards away from him.
Douglas claims, the actress frequently went into alcohol rages and that she threatened his life and even warned him “not to fall asleep or something will happen.” In return Smith claimed her husband threatened her life, referred to her as a “f*cking dike” and accused her of sleeping with other women.
The couple is due back to court next month. As far as the $50,000, it’s was awarded to hold Douglas over until a permanent support agreement is reached in divorce court.
