While fans continue to wait for Tha Carter V, word is Lil Wayne is prepping a mixtape to hold fans over until its release.
During an interview on Miami’s WEDR 99 Jamz, Young Money president Mack Maine revealed that Weezy is finishing up C5 and is working “special project for the people.”
“He’s always working hard for his fans,” he said.
While details of this “special project” haven’t been officially announced, Young Money affiliate Fee Banks posted an Instagram photo of Wayne in the studio, along with the caption: “Sorry 4 the Wait 2” and a “soon” emoji.
Weezy’s last Sorry 4 The Wait mixtape dropped in 2011 in support of Tha Carter IV.
Maine didn’t offer too many details, regarding Wayne’s recent rants against Birdman and cash Money, but did say he’s in the middle… and hopes things work out. “Young Money/Cash Money is a joint venture. We both partners together, and then, we distribute through Universal,” he explained. “I pray that everything works itself out… It’s getting handled as we speak.”
