After a lawsuit was recently dismissed over Jay Z’s “Run This Town,” Hungarian folk singer Monika Miczura Juhasz has filed suit against his wifey Beyonce.
According to Complex, the folk singer, known as “Mitsou,” claims Beyoncé ripped off her vocals on her hit single, “Drunk in Love.” Both Jay Z and producer Timbaland are named in the lawsuit as well.
Mitsou believes Bey recorded her singing from a traditional Roma song called “Bajba, Bajba Pelem” in 1995, and digitally manipulated that recording into the wild female vocal sample that you hear at the beginning of “Drunk in Love.” She’s claiming 29% of the song should be credited to her.
“Bajba, Bajba Pelem” is not featured on iTunes, but a song named “Bajba, Bajba,” by Hungarian folk group Ando Drom, is on YouTube. Mitsou is a former member and soloist of the group.
Beyonce has yet to respond.
