Wizards star Paul Pierce hit a milestone in his career on Monday night (Dec. 8) when he moved up another spot on the all-time scoring list, surpassing sharp shooter Reggie Miller for 16th place.
The future Hall of Famer now has 25,282 career points to date — 24,021 of them were scored with the Celtics and 541 were scored were against Reggie Miller and the Indiana Pacers.
The mark is yet another accomplishment for Pierce to add to his resume, and he will have the opportunity to move up another spot or two this season as well. He’s now 313 points away from passing Alex English, who has a total of 25,613; and 454 to pass his former teammate Kevin Garnett, whom is still an active player.
If the 37-year-old plays next season and continues putting up scoring numbers, he’ll have a chance to pass Celtics legend, John Havlicek.
