After an image of a tracklist to Kendrick Lamar’s sophomore album leaked on Monday (Dec. 8), TDE president Punch has come forward confirm it’s validity.
The image of what appeared to be the back cover of the rapper’s still untitled album boasted features from Dr. Dre, George Clinton, Ron Isley, Pete Rock, and Jay Rock. Punch, however, says the tracklist is “REAL FAKE!”
“yes the new album tracklist floating on the net is REAL FAKE ! LMAO ….dont believe the hype if it doesnt come from my page or kdot’s #TDE,” he tweeted.
Outside of the single “i”, info on Kendrick’s anticipated album remains scarce.
After an interview with Hot 97, Kendrick gave radio personality Peter Rosenberg an early listen… who offered his opinion.
“He’s talking about Black righteousness,” Rosenberg said. “He’s talking about Africa. There’s social commentary. There’s all kinds of deep thoughts…There are deep thoughts throughout. However, it is upbeat music that is gonna thrive in the club and on the radio. However, just like good kid m.A.A.d. city, you can hear there’s no attempt to make club music.”
