Cleveland Browns rookie Johnny Manziel is set to make his first career start this weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals, reports ESPN.
The decision comes after the team gave starter Brian Hoyer another shot to keep his job on Sunday (Dec. 7), but fell short, losing 25-24 against the Colts. The Browns have informed Manziel and Hoyer, who has started Cleveland’s first 13 games this season, of the decision.
Manziel replaced Hoyer against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 30 and led an 80-yard touchdown drive, completing three of his first four passes for 54 yards. It was the first substantial action he’s seen this year.
