Kim Kardashian tried to break the Internet with her Paper magazine cover, but Korean pop star Psy actually came closer.
His breakout hit, 2012’s “Gangnam Style” recently became the most watched video on Youtube to date, garnering more than 2.1 billion views. While that feat is staggering, another interesting note is that it broke Google’s code in doing so.
According to YouTube’s post on Google Plus, the website’s view counter couldn’t keep up with the popularity of the video, so they had to upgrade the code.
“We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views), but that was before we met PSY. ‘Gangnam Style’ has been viewed so many times we had to upgrade to a 64-bit integer (9,223,372,036,854,775,808),” it wrote.
