DJ Mustard is being sued by an ex-friend, who claims the star producer took credit for work he did.
According to TMZ.com, music composer Mike Free has filed suit against Mustard (real name: Dijon McFarlane), claiming he wrote, composed and recorded the music on a number of songs he didn’t get credit for, including the producer’s first hit — “Rack City” for Tyga.
He says him and Mustard were childhood friends who agreed to share composer and producer credits. Free says he brought ideas for tracks, while Mustard had the connections to sell ’em. However, he claims Mustard didn’t uphold his part of the deal.
Free says he also contributed to other big songs like “I’m Different” by 2 Chainz, “Don’t Tell ‘Em” by Jeremih and “IDFWU” by Big Sean, among others.
He’s seeking a cut of royalties and proper producing credit.
