Since bursting onto the scene in 2010, the members of Odd Future have become solid solo acts on their own — specifically Tyler The Creator, Frank Ocean and Earl Sweatshirt.
In a recent story for The Fader, frontman Tyler talked about the dynamics of the collective of musicians, revealing that things have changed since their rise to fame.
While he says those in the group are still cordial, he says each are “on their own island.” Furthermore, he shared that he and Earl are no longer “as close” as they used to be and haven’t worked together since last year.
“That’s my n*gga,” Tyler said, regarding Earl Sweatshirt. “We just aren’t as close as we were. It’s kind of weird, but I’m aware and smart enough to know, okay, sh*t changes. Sh*t changes, people get older, people’s goals change. As f*cking outlandish and outspoken as I am, I don’t like confrontation. I’m not a piece of sh*t, man. I’m fair to everyone.”
