Introducing Plastc: Replace Your Wallet With A Single Card

By Jay Casteel  |  10/08/2014

Technology continues to make things easier, which is the goal of new start-up Plastc. It's released a single card-sized device that allows you to replace all the credit and debit cards in your wallet, as well as gift and loyalty cards (up to 20), for one item.

Equipped with a built-in magnetic stripe and barcode display, Plastc's e-ink touchscreen gives its user easy access to his/her cards with a swipe... and will work at all the places you already frequent.

But what if you misplace or lose it?  There's an answer for that. The card's magnetic stripe and NFC chip are disabled until you select your payment method. PIN entry acts as the first line of security; the card requires you to enter your PIN via the card's e-ink touchscreen before selecting which form of payment you want to use. If you happen to leave your card somewhere, proximity alerts will notify you that you left it behind through your smartphone. And, if you do lose it, you can even remotely wipe all your data from the card.

Plastc is wirelessly rechargeable (each charge lasts 30 days) and software-upgradable.

It's available now to pre-order for $155 USD with orders shipping Summer 2015.
