Fresh off the release of her Hard Core mixtape, Lil Kim stopped by Power 105’s The Breakfast Club to discuss her music, controversy and being a new mother.
First, the rap vet talked about getting into the studio with Diddy recently, saying: “There’s no way in the world we could shake each other. I’m a part of the estate. Diddy’s always… we always do business together. I’m the first Ciroc girl.”
Kim also addresses her issues with K. Michelle, saying the singer is upset because she wasn’t able to perform with her at 2013’s Powerhouse.
“I don’t know you. Let’s just put it all out on the table. The chick is sour,” she said. “She’s a huge fan of mine, everybody knows that. She’s bitter and sour, because you guys had [Powerhouse] last year, and I performed with Kendrick [Lamar]. I was supposed to perform with K. Michelle, but my [driver] got lost.
“When she was coming on, they were still filling the popcorn machines at 7:30 pm. I tried, but I’m not used to that… It just never happened… and she was sour, pissed. Still, I’m a real bitch, I went in her room and told her ‘We gonna make this up. We gonna do this right. I don’t know what happened with the [driver]. That wasn’t my peoples.’
“It’s like whatever. When you don’t know people in this industry, they show who they really are. That’s why I don’t really get close to people in this industry. She’s nuts.”
Later, Kim talks about working with the late Notorious B.I.G. and him being influential in helping create her music early on, from her flow to lyrics; having an abortion when she was pregnant with Biggie’s baby; if a Junior Mafia reunion will ever happen; and once again, her issues with Nicki Minaj, among other things.
