Forbes releases its 2014 Forbes 400 list of the richest Americans… and its Bill Gates who reigns supreme for the 21st year in a row with a reported net worth of $81 billion.
According to Forbes.com, Gates’ stake in the software company makes up just under 20% of his total net worth.
Business magnate Warren Buffett lands at the #2 spot with $67 billion; Oracle CEO Larry Ellison is third on the list with $50 billion; Koch Industries chairman Charles Koch and younger brother David occupy the fourth spot with $42 billion each; and Wal-Mart heiress Christy Walton is fifth on the list with $38 billion.
Other notables and more recognized names on the list include Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who is 11th on the list with $34 billion; Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin at 13th ($31.5 billion) and 14th ($31 billion), respectively; Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos at #15 with $30.5 billion; and former Microsoft CEO and new L.A. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer at #18 with $22.5 billion.
