Retired NBA player Rex Chapman was arrested in Scottsdale, AZ on Friday (Sept. 19) for stealing $14,000 worth of product from an Apple store and then pawning it.
Police say Chapman had previously stolen from the store seven times, using the store’s self checkout system, but never paid for the items.
Chapman, 47, was arrested and charged with nine counts of organized retail theft and five counts of trafficking in stolen property.
He is a former University of Kentucky star, who was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1988 with the 8th overall pick. He averaged 14.6 points per game over his 12-year career, playing for the Washington Bullets, Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns.
