Nike and LeBron James unveiled the NBA superstar’s latest signature shoe on Tuesday (Sept. 16): the LeBron 12.
Tailored to enhance James’ explosiveness, the latest iteration of his signature sneaker combines three key benefits: superior cushioning, harnessed support and natural flexibility.
Born in Nike’s Sport Research Lab, the LeBron 12 is the result of and in-depth analysis on athletic performance and scientific testing… with the highlighted innovation being the redesigned Zoom Air unit. This time around, his shoe features five visible, hexagonally-shaped Nike Zoom Air bags in the outsole, which enhances natural motion while providing accelerated explosiveness with each step. First introduced in 1995, the latest Nike Zoom Air delivers the same great cushioning, but now mapped to the pressure points of the foot, where it’s most needed for basketball performance.
The “NSRL” model shown here is the launch colorway, which was inspired by LeBron 12’s genesis in the lab, reflecting the process of turning data into design to create a superior performance footwear.
The LeBron 12 officially launches Oct. 1 in China with a global release date of Oct. 11. Six more colorways will follow through Dec. Stay tuned for a look at those colorways soon… but see a glimpse below.
