Ahead of its debut at the Paris Auto Show in October, Jaguar offered a worldwide reveal of its 2016 Jaguar XE at an exclusive event in London this week.

Made of aluminium, it boasts lightweight construction, as well as body styling details such as large front air intakes, chrome side vents, a discreet rear spoiler and optional 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

Under the hood, the rear-drive sports sedan is powered by a refined version of the brand’s supercharged 3.0-litre V6, generating 340PS and 450Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate to 0-60 in 4.9 seconds and an electronically-limited max speed of 155mph. The engine is also linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift controls.

In addition to the XE S, other models will be powered by highly efficient 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, matched to smooth-shifting six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions.

The 2016 Jaguar XE goes on sale in 2015. Stay tuned for further details.
