In a slow weekend for new movie releases, Guardians Of The Galaxy rules for its fourth weekend.

The cosmic Marvel adventure landed atop the weekend box office, earning $10.2 million to bring its domestic haul to $294.6 million after six weeks of release. It’s the top grossing film of the year, eclipsing the $259.8 million earned by fellow Marvel movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Worldwide, it’s brought in $586.2 million.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles held steady at the #2 spot with $6.5 million; the Warner Bros. drama, If I Stay starring Chloe Moretz, holds at the #3 spot with $5.7 million; the comedy Let’s Be Cops holds down the fourth slot with $5.4 million; and The November Man closes out the top 5 with $4.2 million.

The only new release, the musical drama The Identical, debuted in a dismal 11th place, bringing in just $1.9 million.

The weekend box office marked the slowest of the year with the total of just $65 million, down 23 percent from a year ago.

That’s a wrap for this weekend. This upcoming week, look out for the release of No Good Deed, starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson; and the family film, Dolphin Tale 2.
