50 Cent and G-Unit stopped by Power 105’s The Breakfast Club radio show this week to discuss a range of topics — including the group’s comeback.
“It was from [Lloyd Banks], he called,” Fif said, when asked about how the Unit came back together.
“I’m pretty sure everybody knows what was going on at the time. Before that, me and 50 wasn’t talking for a while… a long time,” added Banks. “Then, everything happened with [Tony Yayo], next thing I know, my name was in the mix… then I started hearing my name. 50 crazy, so…
“It was just a lack of communication on both our parts,” he continued. “I don’t know what to chalk it up to, we’ve been doing this for a long time — over 10 years. It went from being in a condo, playing over what we wanted to happen and watched it play out. It wasn’t just me and 50, there was points when me and [Young Buck] didn’t talk.”
In addition to G-Unit, 50 Cent and members Banks, Yayo and Kidd Kidd, topics included frustration with the industry prompting Tony Yayo’s negative tweet toward Fif, the problems with Fredro Starr, Missy Elliot’s sexual relationship with Olivia, Jimmy Henchman’s influence over The Game leading to the split, Suge Knight getting shot, and much more.
