MMA fighter War Machine appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom on Wednesday (Sept. 3), where it was revealed that he is facing 32 felony charges.
The 32-year-old (formerly Jonathan Koppenhaver) made headlines in August, after beating porn star girlfriend Christy Mack within an inch of her life while in a jealous rage when he found another man at her Las Vegas home.
After the incident, a warrant was issued for his arrest and he went on the run before being apprehended in Simi Valley, Calif. hotel, where he was raised.
War Machine is facing charges of attempted murder, domestic battery by strangulation, first-degree kidnapping and sexual assault. If convicted on all charges, War Machine could face life in prison.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled on Oct. 17.
The MMA fighter is a former contestant on the UFC’s reality series The Ultimate Fighter. He signed with Bellator MMA in 2013, but was released by the promotion after the alleged incident.
