Uh oh! Sorry sneaker heads, Jordan Brand is halting the production of its iconic Air Jordan 3 silhouette.
According to Sole Collector, the company’s VP of Footwear David Schechter made the announcement during an event in NYC on Thursday (Aug. 28). “The Air Jordan 3 is going back in the vault. The last color just dropped,” he said.
The “last color” Schechter is referring to is the recently released “Sport Blue” colorway, which dropped this month.
Schechter said Jordan wants to “reset” the silhouette made famous by Michael Jordan’s three-throw line dunk in 1988. He also said when the Jordan 3 does return, it will be a fully remastered product.
So, is he referring to the remastered Retros’ the brand announced in June? Earlier this summer, Schechter told Sole Collector that Jordan would be remastered the Retro line with premium materials with a 10%-15% price increase.
