Does the future of flying include windowless jets?
Here’s an example by Technicon Design, who used flexible screens to cover the walls and ceilings of the cabin in their windowless jet concept. Instead of glaring out your window to see the outside views, the screens can display panoramic exterior views in real time using fuselage and wing mounted cameras.
Named the Ixion windowless jet, Technicon unveiled the concept at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) show, reports Yahoo Travel.
In addition to displaying the outside views, the screens can also be programmed to show any scenery you’d like. So as you fly, you can adjust the theme and mood to feel as if you’re in a rain forest, in Paris, or even in space. Onscreen display would also be available, allowing for in-flight video conferencing.
What do you think? Awesome… or nah?
