The NBA handed the Toronto Raptors a $25,000 fine for comments rapper/team ambassador Drake made toward Kevin Durant at a recent concert.

During his performance at the 2014 OVO Fest, Drizzy directed comments toward Kevin Durant (who was in attendance), which the league considered a public recruiting pitch, reports ESPN.

“Before we leave, I just want to show one of my brothers something,” Drake told the crowd at OVO Fest. “You know, my brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen.”

After the comments, KD received an ovation from the crowd, which reportedly launched into a “KD” chant.

Being that Drake was formally named the Raptor’s global ambassador last fall, the NBA deemed his comments a violation of its anti-tampering rules, resulting in a fine.

Durant becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2016. However, the NBA star recently said he’s not thinking about free agency at all at the present moment.
