Although she’s been in the game for a while now, Teyana Taylor is finally set release her debut album.
The 23-year-old announced the news on Twitter this week, revealing both the title and release date. VII is the name and it’s due out October 21st, via G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam.
Teyana also explained the title, adding: “(S.E.V.E.N: 7 is the year of completion) Is everything is finally falling into place, God Is Great.”
So far, she’s shot a video for the first single “Maybe” featuring Pusha T and Yo Gotti, and is readying “Do Not Disturb” as the potential follow-up.
The singer was previously signed to Pharrell’s Star Trak/Interscope label, where she released her debut single “Google Me,” but her debut album never saw a commercial release.
After parting ways with the label in 2012, she released her The Misunderstanding of Teyana Taylor mixtape and signed a deal with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music, after which she appeared on the G.O.O.D. Music compilation Cruel Summer and West’s critically acclaimed My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
