After serving six years in prison, Remy Ma is a free woman.
The Bronx rapper was released Thursday morning (July 31) from the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women in New York at around 8 a.m., reports MTV.
Remy was greeted by her husband Papoose, in addition to her manager and other members of her entourage.
She was sentenced to eight years in prison on assault charges back in 2008 for shooting another woman, but she was able to serve a shorter sentence.
On Wednesday (July 30), her official social media accounts confirmed her release. “1 Day and a wake up Left . #TeamRemyMa #TheRulersBack #RemysHome #RemyMa,” her Instagram account said, along with a photo of her holding up one finger.
