One 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO of only 39 ever built is set to hit the auction block soon for the staggering pricetag of: €40 million EUR (approximately $54 million USD).
The stunning supercar was developed by Giotto Bizzarrini with styling by Sergio Scaglietti and was originally produced to compete in the FIA’s Group 3 Grand Touring Car category. When released in the 1960s, the Ferrari carried a $18,000 USD pricetag in the States. However, prospective buyers had to be personally approved by Ferrari Enzo and his US distributor, Luigi Chinetti.
