Snoop Dogg and actor Terrence Howard hop on board to executive produce a new documentary, entitled Take Me to the River, which brings multiple generations of award-winning Memphis and Mississippi Delta musicians together to discuss the cultural significance of the music they composed in the 50’s and on-ward.

Directed by Martin Shore and narrated by Terrence Howard, the film features a soulful ensemble that includes William Bell, Snoop Dogg, Mavis Staples, Otis Clay, Lil P-Nut, Charlie Musselwhite, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Yo Gotti, Bobby Rush, Academy Award winner Frayser Boy and The North Mississippi All-Stars.

Viewers will relive the era and share the struggles, joy, and triumphs of some of America’s most talented master musicians, who have influenced and inspired the world’s popular music.

Take Me to the River hits theaters September 12th. A companion soundtrack will be released this fall with tracks from the film’s featured artists.
