It was a possibility when reports came in that he had become a free agent… and now, LeBron James has made his decision: he’s heading back to Cleveland to join the Cavaliers again!!!
The NBA superstar told SI.com Friday (July 11) that he will be returning to his home state.
“My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball,” James said. “I didn’t realize that four years ago. I do now.”
James makes a complete 180 from “The Decision” in 2010, when he left Cleveland in dramatic fashion to “take his talents to South Beach,” stirring up controversy and turning him into a villain.
Now, after two titles with the “Big Three,” alongside Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh for four years, he goes back home.
“The hardest thing to leave is what I built with those guys,” James said. “I’ve talked to some of them and will talk to others. Nothing will ever change what we accomplished.”
LeBron now joins #1 draft pick Andrew Wiggins and superstar guard Kyrie Irving for what will surely be an exciting season.
However, now the Miami Heat are in limbo, as they decide what direction to go with both Bosh and Wade currently free agents.
Welcome Home @kingjames. I am excited for the fans and people of Cleveland and Ohio. No fans and people deserve a winner more than them…..
