Multinational conglomerate 3M recently enlisted architects Atelier Hitoshi Abe, and Peter Ebner and Friends to re-design their St. Paul, Minnesota headquarters... and DesignBoom offers a look at the makeover.

In this photo set, we get a look at Atelier Hitoshi Abe's conversion of the site's central parking lot into a large pedestrian plaza with tangram patterned tiles, as well as the additions of collaborative work spaces with interactive touchscreens and public areas, such as the employee entrance and café.

Additionally, the Japanese firm introduced two new stairways as a way to improve circulation between the different floors.
