Nicki Minaj celebrated America’s Independence Day in Philadelphia, performing at the Philly 4th of July Jam at Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The YMCMB rapper graced the stage for the free fourth annual concert, which aired live on VH1, rocking a skimpy top and black leather sweatpants and opening with her hit single, “Super Bass.”
As her performance continued, she ran through a slew of new songs, including her Pink Print single “Pills N Potions,” “Yasss Bish!!” and added older cuts like “Did It On ‘Em” and “Beez in the Trap.” “Ya’ll know this has always been one of my favorite places to be,” Nicki told Philly fans. “Since before my first album dropped everybody knows that I love ya’ll, I love your energy.
“Happy birthday America,” she added later. “Today we’re free from everybody that tried to hold us back last year. ‘Cause if they didn’t succeed last year, they not gon’ succeed this year.”
She capped off her 20-minute set with the crowd favorite “Moment 4 Life.”
The concert also featured performances by Aloe Blacc, Jennifer Hudson, and Philly’s own The Roots. See the entire show below, hosted by Marlon Wayans.
