After offering a mysterious teaser clip this week, Harley-Davidson lifts the veil on Project LiveWire, the first electric motorcycle in the brand’s 111-year history.
It’s a look into the company’s future. It sports a modernized look and sleek design, but keeps in Harley-Davidson’s tradition of quality and innovation, inspired by the freedom and ingenuity that has shaped our nation.
While specs have yet to be divulged, Project LiveWire is said to offer a “visceral riding experience with tire-shredding acceleration” and best of all… an unmistakable new sound, sure to become as iconic as the throaty signature roar Harley-Davidson bikes are known for.
“Project LiveWire is more like the first electric guitar — not an electric car,” said Mark-Hans Richer, Senior VP and Chief Marketing Officer at Harley-Davidson.
In support of the new bike’s launch, Harley-Davidson is gearing up for the Project LiveWire Experience, a nationwide tour along the famed Route 66, where it will visit more than 30 Harley-Davidson dealerships through the year to allow fans to test ride and learn more about the story of the motorcycle. If you don’t ride, they got you covered with a simulated riding experience called Jumpstart to allow consumers to feel its power.
Can you imagine taking the LiveWire for a ride through the city or on the open road? We sure can…
