With Edge Of Tomorrow hitting theaters June 6th, Tom Cruise and co-star Emily Blunt, along with director Doug Liman, took a rather impressive 24-hour, three-city premiere in promotion of the anticipated sci-fi film.
The premieres took place in three different countries over the course of a day. Starting in London, followed by Paris, and finally, concluding at New York’s AMC Lincoln Square for an 11:59 PM screening – literally premiering at the “edge of tomorrow.”
For those who missed the 24 hour experience Warner Bros. provides us with a 13-minute special that offers further insight into the upcoming sci-fi action film. In the clip, the actors discuss the story, their characters and what to expect.
Edge Of Tomorrow unfolds in a near future, in which an alien race has hit the Earth with an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Major William Cage (Cruise) — an officer who has never seen a day of combat — is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. After being killed within minutes, he finds himself inside an inexplicably time loop, forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over. Finally, Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt) trains him to change the events of the future.
