A Los Angeles landmark has been transformed in support of the local NHL franchise: the L.A. Kings.
Randy’s Donuts has been a Los Angeles staple since 1953. On Saturday night (May 24), before the Kings took a 2-1 series lead over the Blackhawks, the giagantic iconic donut was transformed into one big hockey puck (shown here in a photo by ESPN writer Arash Markazi).
“Randy’s Donuts is honored and excited to partner with the Kings and to transform our iconic donut into a special Kings hockey puck in support of this historic run toward the Stanley Cup,” said shop owner, Larry Weintraub. “The hope is our sign stays a puck throughout the playoffs, culminating with another Stanley Cup victory for the LA Kings.”
At press time, it’s unclear how long the donut will celebrate the Kings playoff run.
