After criticizing the referees following the Los Angeles Clippers’ Game 5 loss on Tuesday (May 13), the NBA has fined coach Doc Rivers $25,000.
Following the game, Rivers said the Clippers were “robbed” of the victory after a call went in favor of the Oklahoma City Thunder with 11.3 seconds left in what he called a “series-defining play.”
On Wednesday (May 14), the league defended the officials’ call in the fourth-quarter play, when it appeared the ball went out of bounds off Reggie Jackson, but the Thunder were awarded possession following a video review.
The Thunder won the game, 105-104, and now hold a 3-2 edge in the series. Game 6 is Thursday night.
