In the wake of Donald Sterling’s controversial racist comments, the Los Angeles Clippers began pushing the phrase “WE ARE ONE”, showing that they stand together against the owner.
Now, the NBA and Adidas have taken the phrase and put them on t-shirts, featuring it along the Clippers’ or league’s logo.
The phrase was first posted on the Clippers’ website last week, on the day NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced that he was fining owner Donald Sterling the league-maximum $2.5 million and banning him for life for racist comments he made.
The “We Are One” tee is currently on sale at NBAStore.com in youth, men’s and women’s sizes, at $19.95, $23.95 and $29.95 respectively.
The NBA says that all proceeds will go toward anti-discrimination and tolerance organizations, which will also be the beneficiaries of Sterling’s fine money.
