Some fallout has surfaced in the wake of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling’s recent racist remarks — the team has lost its first sponsor.
Reports said used car dealer CarMax has announced the end of their nine-year relationship with the Clippers, citing Sterling’s views as a “conflict.”
“CarMax finds the statements attributed to the Clippers’ owner completely unacceptable,” said a rep for the company. “These views directly conflict with CarMax’s culture of respect for all individuals. While we have been a proud Clippers sponsor for nine years and support the team, fans and community, these statements necessitate that CarMax end its sponsorship.”
