Despite previously announcing a May release, Lil Wayne’s anticipated Carter V is being delayed.
In February, during Drake’s concert in New Orleans for NBA All-Star Weekend, the YMCMB rapper brought out Weezy and made a big announcement– Tha Carter V would be dropping May 5th. “If you want to hear Lil Wayne at his best, if you wanna hear Young Money at they best… Carter V, May 5 ,” Drizzy revealed.
Well, sorry fans, the wait will be a little longer.
During a recent interview, Wayne’s manager Cortez Bryant said that anticipated album will not drop on the announced date. “You know I push dates back and sh*t, so I’m not gonna release that date until I really, really, really know what it really, really, really is,” he told Never Not Dope TV.
Stay tuned for a new date… but Lil Wayne assures that it will be worth the wait. During his recent CRWN interview, he said: “I’m approaching it like it is my last project and I think that’s why it’s a lot different than everything else. I’m approaching it as if you don’t have tomorrow.”
