New York Magazine’s fifth annual “Yesteryear” issue hits newsstands this week, featuring a young Jay Z on the cover.
Dubbed “100, Years, 100 Songs, 100 Night: A Century of Pop Music in New York,” the cover story runs down musical greats from the historic city. And, features alternative covers with the Notorious B.I.G., Bob Dylan and Frank Sinatra.
Jay Z’s cover was taken in 1997, at a time when the now legendary rapper had just started his career. He sports a Cincinnati Reds cap and matching red undershirt, chambray button-down and leather jacket.
