After announcing their split in a joint statement Monday (Feb. 24), a source close to Robin Thicke and wife Paula Patton says it may have not been a mutual decision after all.
According to Us Weekly, Thicke does not want a divorce… and it was Patton who made the decision to end things.
“Robin wanted to save their marriage, but it was Paula’s choice and she ended it,” said the insider. “Robin does not want this divorce.
“Robin was not blindsided — he knew this was coming out,” a second source added. “But he was committed to saving their marriage. He didn’t want this.”
The couple were high school sweethearts who married in June 2005, and had a son, Julian, who is 3.
“She is done with the marriage, but he was definitely fighting to stay together until the last moment,” another insider told Us. “It is still cordial between them, but they are now figuring things out.”
