22 years after Ice Cube rapped about seeing his name on the Goodyear Blimp on his 1990’s hit single, “It Was A Good Day,” his words finally come to reality.
On Monday (Jan. 20), his name appeared on Blimp as part of a fundraiser for A Place Called Home, an organization for at-risk youth, reports the L.A. Weekly. It was all made possible by three fans calling themselves “Team Good Day Blimp,” vowing to raise $25,00 through a crowdfunding website for the non-profit. Only … if Goodyear would participate.
Ice Cube said yes to the plan, and Jimmy Fallon plugged it… and eventually Goodyear agreed as well.
