After some false starts and album delays, 50 Cent is ready to return to music.
While in Las Vegas promoting his SMS Audio headphones brand at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the hip-hop star spoke to HLN, explaining that he’s ready to get back to what he loves.
He’s prepping his next album, Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire to Win, due out in the first quarter of 2014.
“I took a long time to start launching music again. I’m ready now,” Fif said.
In a separate interview with Sonic, he explained the delay was due to behind-the-scenes business. “It took me so long to get the business portion of music straight,” 50 said. “I went through an audit process ’cause [Before I Self Destruct] was the last record required for Interscope Records.”
He also explained the theme of the album, saying it’s about “prosperity.”
“I’ve got an interesting way of writing it. I wrote it from a distorted viewpoint. … The overall theme is ambition and prosperity.”
50 also said Animal Ambition will lead into the release of the anticipated Street King Immortal later this year.
