Tensions flared between the camps of Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios Wednesday morning (Nov. 20) at The Venetian Macao in Macau, China, as the fighters gear up for their pay-per-view showdown Saturday evening (Nov. 23).
The incident began when Pac-Man trainer Freddie Roach approached Rios trainer Robert Garcia in a gym area at the Venetian Theatre that both camps are sharing during fight week. It was all caught on camera too.
The clip (below) shows Roach asking Garcia to leave and apparently calling him a “piece of sh**.” From there, things escalated.
“Don’t call me a piece of sh**,” Garcia responded. Then, Rios’ strength and conditioning coach, Alex Ariza, shouted at Roach to leave with Roach shouted back to “make me.” Ariza would kick Roach in the stomach, and then one of Rios’ team members began shouting to which Pacquiao’s trainer called him a “Mexican motherf***er,” prompting a near-brawl.
Security would have to intervene, and things were finally diffused.
