Remember when Suge Knight was shot in the leg back in 2005, during Kanye West’s pre-VMAs party in Miami? At the time, there were no witnesses, nor was the shooter identified.
New information has surfaced, unearthed by The Smoking Gun, pointing to former music exec Jimmy Henchman (now incarcerated for drug trafficking) as the person responsible.
Acording to the report, Henchman (real name: James Rosemond) ordered the shooting, and put the gun in the shooter’s hand.
During that evening, Suge was sitting at a VIP table inside Miami’s Shore Club hotel for Kanye’s pre-MTV VMAs party, when he was approached and fired upon by an unknown assailant. He was hit once in the upper right leg,and rushed to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove the bullet and repair a broken bone. He later sued Kanye West and the nightclub, claiming they were responsible because they didn’t provide adequate security — it was later dismissed because it was settled out of court.
A federal informant, who is a longtime Rosemond associate, admitted to being the gunman, claiming he was paid $10,000 for the hit. No motive was given for the shooting.
Henchman is currently behind bars, serving out a life sentence for running a national drug trafficking ring.
