Though the Kansas City Chiefs remain undefeated, they just got a little bad news. Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was arrested early Sunday (Nov. 10) on marijuana possession and speeding charges.
According to ESPN.com, the 29-year-old was pulled over shortly before midnight in Riverside, Mo. on Saturday (Nov. 9) when he was clocked doing 48 mph in a 35 mph zone. After being stopped, the officer detected marijuana odor coming from the car. The vehicle was subsequently searched, and more than 10 grams of marijuana were found in two containers in Bowe’s car.
He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, and released on $750 bond. He’s due back in court Dec. 18.
Bowe, who signed a five-year, $56 million contract with the Chiefs last off-season, is second on the team with 33 receptions and third with 369 receiving yards. The team currently holds an undefeated record of 9-0.
