The modern yo-yo was first birthed in the late 1920s, and taken over by the Duncan brand in early 1930s. Today, it’s still a cult favorite years after it’s heyday in the 1960s-80s.
At the recently held 2013 World Yo-Yo Contest in Orlando, Florida — where the world’s best yo-yo players compete against each other for the supremacy — Hungarian competitor Janos Karancz (above) took home first place… and showed just how much skill it takes to be one of the best in the world.
The routine was described as “remarkably clean and terrifyingly difficult” by yo-yo blogger Steve Brown.
