TMZ caught up with Ransom, days after Nicki Minaj blasted him for some lyrics on his new song called “Man Alone”, which some misinterpreted as claiming he used to ghostwrite for her.
When TMZ caught up with Nicki Tuesday (August 6) in Los Angeles, she was less than pleased when she heard about Ran’s alleged claims, saying not him — or anyone else — writes her lyrics.
“What? I rap better than him. Who the f*** is he crazy?” Nicki responded. “I’m not even a man and n****s got my d*** in their mouths. Are you f***ing serious? I’m undisputed because I’m the only female rapper that day one, I don’t need no motherf***ing ghostwriter. So if you’re telling that lie, you must be really f***ing desperate and you still ain’t gonna pop.”
Ransom cleared the air Wednesday night (August 7), telling TMZ cameras that lyrics from his song were misinterpreted, explaining that when he says he was “doing verses” for Nicki before she made it big, he meant doing songs/collaborations with her.
“What I meant was, she used to call me to get on her songs … I meant that we did verses TOGETHER. I did verses for her records,” the rapper explained. “I never wrote no songs for her.”
As the conversation continued, Ransom said Nicki’s reaction was “disrespectful,” and says she should apologize, though he made it clear he didn’t need one.
