In a recently released song by New Jersey spitter Ransom, called “Man Alone,” he insinuates that he used to ghostwrite for Nicki Minaj before she became a superstar.
“Before Nicki was wearing those crazy wigs / I was doing verses for her just hoping she made it big,” he spits on the song.
While Nicki may not have heard the song, TMZ cameras caught up with her on Tuesday (August 6) in Los Angeles and asked her about the bars… and she was less than pleased about it.
“What? I rap better than him. Who the f*** is he crazy?” Nicki responded. “I’m not even a man and n****s got my d*** in their mouths. Are you f***ing serious? I’m undisputed because I’m the only female rapper that day one, I don’t need no motherf***ing ghostwriter. So if you’re telling that lie, you must be really f***ing desperate and you still ain’t gonna pop.
“How a wack n**** gonna write my sh**? I haven’t even heard about that n**** in the last five years. I slaughter these n****s, period,” she concluded.
Ran took to Twitter Wednesday (@201Ransom) retweeting a fan that clarified that “doing verses” for another artist would mean a featured spot on a song, rather than writing their lyrics. He later said he was offended by Nicki’s comments, writing: “I was there when you wasn’t hot.. Never asked you for anything when you got hot. Now I get this disrespect.”
