Drake reunited with Kanye West at his OVO Fest in Toronto on Monday evening (August 5), bringing his rap peer out on stage… and called it the “most important moment in [his] life.”
In an interview with with Revolt TV immediately after, the YMCMB rapper reacted to the moment.
“In rap, sometimes we don’t communicate enough. It’s extremely competitive,” Drizzy said. “Me and Kanye we hadn’t even talked before we got onstage together. We didn’t rehearse or anything like that. I didn’t even see him. That was my first time seeing him when I got onstage.
“His words — that was a moment I clicked out,” he continued. “I don’t know if this is real or not. I’m not sure if I’m still sleeping from the morning or if I’m dreaming about how this is working out. Probably the most important moment in my life to date.”
During the appearance, Ye performed “New Slaves,” “All of the Lights,” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.” “There’s been a lot of rappers that came in the game that wasn’t able to do something like this for their city,” said ‘Ye. “Me and Hov would’ve never made Watch the Throne if this ni**a wasn’t putting pressure on us like that.”
