Legendary Bay Area collective, the Hieroglyphics, are teaming up with Oakland-based Linden Street Brewery to present the Second Annual Hiero Day block party, coming in September.
Scheduled for September 2nd at the Port of Oakland’s Linden Street Brewery, Hiero Day is a free all-day music festival that features live performances by the indie legends and other special guests. It also features local merchandise vendors, food trucks, and interactive activities for all ages.
Hiero Day celebrates and showcases the Bay Area’s diverse, innovative, multicultural, and multigenerational music movement in the heart of Oakland.
After the success of last year’s inaugural event, Oakland’s Mayor Jean Quan will declare September 3, 2013 as “Hiero Day” in the City of Oakland. This year’s festival holds particular significance to the local music community, as it lands on the 20th anniversary of the release of the groundbreaking album, ’93 ‘Til Infinity, by the Souls of Mischief.
During Hiero’s performance, they will run through hits from previous albums — including ’93 ‘Til Infinity, Full Circle, and their new album The Kitchen, which dropped earlier this month.
